- =LEFT(A2,3) बाएँ से 3, =RIGHT(A2,4) दाएँ से 4, =MID(A2,5,4) 5वें से 4 characters। =LEN(A2) spaces समेत गिनता है।
- =FIND(" ",A2) position बताता है; first name: =LEFT(A2,FIND(" ",A2)-1)। FIND case-sensitive है, SEARCH नहीं।
- =TRIM(A2) आगे-पीछे के spaces हटाता है और बीच के कई spaces को एक कर देता है; =CLEAN() न छपने वाले characters हटाता है।
- इन functions का result text होता है: =LEFT("2024-01",4) से "2024" text मिलता है। Number चाहिए तो =VALUE() लगाएँ।
